Atlas Shrugged Movie is coming out in April 2011

Visit the Official Atlas Shrugged Movie Web Site!

Atlas Shrugged was Ayn Rand’s warning to the Free World that certain kinds of politics and economics do not work.  This book written in 1957 has remained popular ever since it was first published.  This is one of those stories that; if you don’t have time to read the book, make time for the movie.   The producer has stated publicly that their intention is to remain true to the book and to Ayn Rand’s characters.  Should be fun, and maybe, just maybe will open a few eyes.

Stop the Stupidity!

308

You can kiss cheap brass “Good-Bye” or this is one time that we as gun owners can raise our voices and make a difference.  Call your Senator, your Congressman, and I would hit the economic development folks in your state.  Point out the impending loss of jobs at a time when all jobs are highly important.  Don’t be afraid to tell your Governor that you are worried about the loss of this source of brass because Law Enforcement agencies rely upon it indirectly through their ammo suppliers, for practice ammunition.

9mmThe military can sell reloadable brass for $2.00 per pound. Brass that has been destroyed for reloading purposes and value sells for about 35 cents per pound. So the DLA is expecting taxpayers to pay DoD extra to make reloadable brass unavailable to civilian gun owners and Law Enforcement.

Someone in the Obama Admin.  has decided that it makes more sense to waste $1.65 per pound than to continue having well trained police officers nationwide.   By the way, has anyone considered the cost of demilling this brass so that it can be sold at a loss.   Of course the real objective is to make it that much harder for the law abiding gun owner to afford to continue his/her sport, and long term to disarm the American Public.

Senator Max Baucus is Chairman of the  Senate Finance Committee. He could apply appropriate pressure upon the Pentagon to force a quick reversal of this wasteful policy.  Baucus’s former Chief of Staff, Jim Messina, now Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, dude… Make a Call!

I recommend you communicate with the Baucus, Tester and Rehberg staffers who are tasked to firearms issues. They are:

Baucus – “Heather O’Loughlin” heather_o’loughlin@baucus.senate.gov

Tester – “Lillstrom, Alpha” <Alpha_Lillstrom@tester.senate.gov>

Rehberg – “Abra Belke” <abra.belke@mail.house.gov>

Tell them we simply don’t accept the military destroying perfectly good brass that could be sold into the civilian market for private and commercial reloading, which also affect Law Enforcement agencies.

You can find the addresses and e-mails of your own senators and congressmen by going to www.senate.gov and www.house.gov.   Both pages have locator aids at the top of the page.

Below are some related stories.  As usual there is no reporting of this in the mainstream media.

Sarah Brady on the Warpath for Anti-gun (Anti-Freedom) Legisaltion!

Sarah Brady said following the election of Obama, “As soon as President-elect Obama is inaugurated and the 111th Congress is sworn in, the Brady Campaign will be making an all-out push to advance our lifesaving legislative agenda… But that doesn’t mean we are waiting until Inauguration Day.”

The next couple of years will the toughest battle for existence… yes I said existence, that the American gun owner has faced since the GCA of 1968.  Now is the time to write your elected officials and tell them that you want your rights protected at all costs.  Don’t stop with Senators and Congressmen, write to your Governor as well.  As the head of your State government the Governor is a member of an elite group of politicians who can bring pressure to bear on issues of importance.

Tell your officials, NO NEW TAXES, and NO INCREASED TAXES on any part of the firearms industry or it’s products.  Make it clear that you care about this issue, and that you vote based on how officials deal with it.

The article linked below defines politically correct speech when applied to guns and gun laws.  It’s worth a read.http://mensnewsdaily.com/2009/01/08/gun-law-update-brady-gun-ban-strategy-outlined/

Obama Thinks it’s All About Him!

ABC News’ Ed O’Keefe Reports: The Obama campaign is taking issue with a comment President Bush made while speaking to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel’s statehood.

“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

Senator Obama seems to think that everything is about him!  I guess he did not hear about Jimmy Carter’s distasteful and anti-American act of meeting in April of 2008 with the leader of Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert did not meet Carter during his visit to Israel and Washington criticized him for his contacts with Hamas, which both regard as a terrorist group.  It would be much more impressive if the Senator called for Jimmy Carters passport to be revoked for his actions.
