Cabot Guns, The Left and The Right, Mirror 1911’s

At Shot Show 2014 Cabot Guns made quite a splash with their mirror image 1911 pistols.  These two guns were true right and left hand 1911 pistols.  The right had all the conventional controls, ie. safety, slide stop and magazine release that we are all used to.

Left Handed Thinking

The Left gun however was totally backwards (as you might expect) with the controls on the wrong side of the gun.  Which makes sense when you see the scrimshaw by Darrel Morris on the grips.  The Left gun has Piers Morgan on the right grip and Obamo on the left grip.

The Right hand gun has Ted Nugent on the left grip and G.W. Bush on the right side.Right handed 1911

So when the two guns are muzzle to muzzle you have Morgan facing off with Nugent on one side and Obama with Bush on the other.  The display highlights the great American gun debate.

The folks at Cabot Guns obviously have a sense of humor as well as a clear understanding of what will spark discussion.  These presentation grade 1911 pistols show off the abilities of the company to produce high grade guns.  These guns were the talk of the show, nearly everyone I talked to asked, “Have you seen the Right and Left guns at Cabot’s booth?”

Cabot Guns was launched in 2011. In a short time, the company has won two consecutive NRA National Pistol Championships. The Cabot 1911 has been described as “the Rolls Royce of 1911’s” by S.P. Fjestad, Author and Editor of the “Blue Book of Gun Values.Ted Nugent @ Cabot Guns

Atlas Shrugged Movie is coming out in April 2011

Visit the Official Atlas Shrugged Movie Web Site!

Atlas Shrugged was Ayn Rand’s warning to the Free World that certain kinds of politics and economics do not work.  This book written in 1957 has remained popular ever since it was first published.  This is one of those stories that; if you don’t have time to read the book, make time for the movie.   The producer has stated publicly that their intention is to remain true to the book and to Ayn Rand’s characters.  Should be fun, and maybe, just maybe will open a few eyes.

The Messiah is a Liah!

The Mesiah

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, reacting to yesterday’s remarks by Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder that the president will seek to reinstate the ban on semi-automatic firearms, Gottlieb said  “We warned America that Obama’s ‘support’ for the Second Amendment was empty rhetoric,” he stated, “and now Holder’s disclosure has confirmed it. Obama was lying, and now gun rights may be dying.”

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s response to a reporter’s question on weapons’ regulations, Holder said, “Well, as President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to re-institute the ban on the sale of assault weapons. I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum.”

Holder refused to speculate when regulations would move forward, likely no law would be passed, instead a decree will be handed down from mount Olympus.   “There are obviously a number of things that are — that have been taking up a substantial amount of [Obama’s] time, and so, I’m not sure exactly what the sequencing will be,”  Holder said.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)  in response to Attorney General Eric Holder’s comments on Feb. 25, 2009, about reinstating the assault weapons ban, NSSF issued a press release reminding Congress and all Americans that such a ban would result in a loss of jobs, have no effect on reducing crime and would deprive millions of law-abiding gun owners of their Constitutional right to own the firearm of their choice.

History is a good teacher.  We know that the Clinton Gun Ban had ZERO effect on crime in the United States, or Mexico for that matter.  There is no reason to reinstate this restrictive and useless ban except to limit gun ownership.   Assault weapons as defined in the Clinton Ban were involved in less than 1% of homicides before the assault weapons ban took effect in 1994. The same is true as of 1998. (1)    As of 1998, about 13% of homicides involve knives, 5% involve bludgeons, and 6% are committed with hands and feet. (1)    The Clinton administration prosecuted 4 people in 1997 and 4 people in 1998 for violating the assault weapons ban. (2)

Communitarianism, New Word Meaning, John Q. Public is Screwed! or will be soon…

In January 2008 Former President Bill Clinton addressed a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, here is a quote from his speech.

“Communitarianism is a movement that considers individualism an impediment to society uniformly adopting values the movement considers appropriate, including authoritarian gun control.”

So, do you think your individual freedoms are safe?

Clearly these pompous elitists think they are smarter and better than everyone else.  In reality they are just a rehash of old fashioned socialism.  My Grandfather would have called them “educated damn fools!”  Conservatives are still the majority in this country, we need to become the vocal majority and put a stop to such foolishness.  We need to teach, speak out, share, influence, and express our views at every opportunity.

If you do not consider this to be an important issue I suggest some reading:

  • 1984 by George Orwell
  • Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
  • Animal Farm by George Orwell
  • The Fountain Head by Ayn Rand
  • Paradise Lost by John Milton

Freedom and Individuality were the building blocks of this country and they are what draw peoples from all over the world to our shores.  If we give them up we loose our identity and frankly our value to humanity.

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Ammunition Accountability Legislation… Sounds like a good idea right? Like most anti-gun laws the name is misleading. The plan is to make guns illegal through the back door. In the summer of 2008 when the Heller v. Washington D.C. decision was handed down by the Supreme Court the liberals knew they had to take a new route because the have lost on the issue of the Second Amendment, and private ownership.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. If it passes nobody can sell any ammunition afterwards unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held unencoded ammunition must be destroyed as a part of this proposed law. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! That is just to start, how long do you think it will take for that tax to rise to the point that plinking and soon hunting are simply too expensive for the average person to participate in. If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation was active in 18 state legislatures in 2008 and will be reintroduced in 2009, call you state legislators and tell them to fight this bill when it pops up, don’t even let it out of commitee! The Following states considered this bill in 2008; Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

Sarah Brady on the Warpath for Anti-gun (Anti-Freedom) Legisaltion!

Sarah Brady said following the election of Obama, “As soon as President-elect Obama is inaugurated and the 111th Congress is sworn in, the Brady Campaign will be making an all-out push to advance our lifesaving legislative agenda… But that doesn’t mean we are waiting until Inauguration Day.”

The next couple of years will the toughest battle for existence… yes I said existence, that the American gun owner has faced since the GCA of 1968.  Now is the time to write your elected officials and tell them that you want your rights protected at all costs.  Don’t stop with Senators and Congressmen, write to your Governor as well.  As the head of your State government the Governor is a member of an elite group of politicians who can bring pressure to bear on issues of importance.

Tell your officials, NO NEW TAXES, and NO INCREASED TAXES on any part of the firearms industry or it’s products.  Make it clear that you care about this issue, and that you vote based on how officials deal with it.

The article linked below defines politically correct speech when applied to guns and gun laws.  It’s worth a read.http://mensnewsdaily.com/2009/01/08/gun-law-update-brady-gun-ban-strategy-outlined/

Founder of Cooper Arms Ousted!

Dan Cooper founder of Cooper Arms recently made a huge mistake he decided to support anti-gun candidate for Presidential office, Barack Obama. CQ Moneyline compiles election records and reports that Cooper gave $3300 to Obama’s election campaign. First reported in a USA Today article on October 27, 2008; this political donation cause an uproar among gun owners, hunters, shooters, and the firearms trade as a whole.

Barack Obama has been identified as the most anti-gun candidate in Presidential political history, visit the NRA-ILA site for complete details on Obama’s position: http://www.nraila.org/OBAMA/With this information in mind firearms owners are hard pressed to understand how any gun manufacturer could be so reckless and foolish as to support Obama for any election, let alone the Presidency of the United States.

Cooper Arms posted an announcement on their web site, “Although we believe everyone has the right to vote and donate as they see fit. It has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the share holders of Cooper Firearms. The Board of Directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President.”

Dan Cooper made a statement to USA Today on Thursday the 30th of October, that he resigned as President of Cooper arms to protect the employees and shareholders of Cooper Arms. Cooper said, “When the Internet anger turned on these innocent people, I felt it was important to distance myself from the company so as not tot cause any further harm.”

The American Hunters & Shooters Association is an anti-gun front group that pretends to be pro-gun as evidenced by this quote from their web site, “AHSA is a non-partisan organization that advocates and advances sensible public policies. We will never support unfettered access to all types of weapons.”1

One of their writers, Ray Schoenke blogged the following;

“Today, on behalf of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA), I condemned the actions  by the NRA and its cronies forcing Dan Cooper out.

The gun lobby’s attempt to destroy a good man and small business owner, a loyal member of the gun fraternity, again reveals the desperate Joe McCarthy-like politics of fear that the NRA leadership and others put first.  They are trying to scare America’s hunters and shooters into voting against Barack Obama — but we have one thing to say: vote hope and not fear.”2

These guys from the AHSA assume that gun owners are stupid, uniformed, Bubba’s who will not be able to see them for the Liberal P.A.C. that they are. Invoking the name McCarthy is supposed to make capitalists and conservatives head for the hills covering our heads, after all we don’t want to be perceived as unreasonable or paranoid. It is interesting that the Liberals choose McCarthy as an attack vehicle, while the rampant anti-communism that McCarthyism brought was dangerous and often unwarranted, the most frightening result of it was to force real Socialists to duck and cover. They found a hiding place in the Democratic Party where they have flurished now for almost three generations and have usurped it as their own.

It is clear that Obama represents the greatest threat to gun ownership in U.S. History. Earlier in October while at a campaign stop in Lebanon, Ohio, Obama said, “I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in the people’s lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away.” Fortunately for us we have Barack Obama’s voting record and previous speeches to revue to see if his is telling the truth… He is not!

Pay close attention to Obama’s statement above, it would not preclude him from a number of other highly restrictive moves. Firearms could be heavily taxed to the point that nobody could afford to buy new ones, effectively destroying the gun industry. Ammunition could be taxed or restricted to the point that you would not be able to afford or acquire it. Travel with firearms could be restricted, making ownership a mute point. Making the manufacture of new firearms illegal would not preclude you from owning one but would be a long term method of eliminating them.

Democrats Inconsistent on Voter Disenfranchisement!

Over the weekend, a DNC committee reinstated delegates from Florida and Michigan, awarding them half a vote each as punishment for holding their respective primaries before February 5 in violation of party rules. The committee awarded Barack Obama 59 delegates from Michigan, despite his name not appearing on the ballot.  It has been reported that “Many Obama supporters voted for “uncommitted” on the ballot as a way of showing support for Obama.”  Yea, that’s what I would say if I wanted to hand some delegates to him too.

You may recall a few years back when the Democrats lost an election based on the outcome of the Florida vote they were strong, or you might say the strongest advocates of protecting every vote as being essential and that somehow the voters of Florida were being disenfranchised.  Fast forward to present day, the DNC is totally willing to disenfranchise Democrat voters, ie Michigan and Florida.  Just seems inconsistent, what do you think?

Obama Thinks it’s All About Him!

ABC News’ Ed O’Keefe Reports: The Obama campaign is taking issue with a comment President Bush made while speaking to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel’s statehood.

“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

Senator Obama seems to think that everything is about him!  I guess he did not hear about Jimmy Carter’s distasteful and anti-American act of meeting in April of 2008 with the leader of Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert did not meet Carter during his visit to Israel and Washington criticized him for his contacts with Hamas, which both regard as a terrorist group.  It would be much more impressive if the Senator called for Jimmy Carters passport to be revoked for his actions.
